Configure Device Types: Customize the Repair Intake Form

In short

You create device types in the Form Builder under “My RepairCMS”. You give each type a name and icon and enable the required attributes like brand, model, serial number, accessories and condition. New types are instantly available for the next intake.

Your benefits at a glance #

  • Smart mandatory fields: Define crucial fields like IMEI or serial number separately per type so technicians receive complete device data.
  • Faster device intake: A cleanly structured intake form cuts down customer wait times at your service counter.
  • Seamless documentation: Log device condition and accessories in a standardized way to protect your shop against false claims.
  • Flexible scalability: Expand your service catalog anytime by adding new device types yourself.
Without this process

  • One-size-fits-all forms for every device without type-specific fields.
  • Technicians waste time chasing missing device data after intake.
  • Forgotten accessory notes lead to disputes with customers over lost items.
  • Messy, unorganized paperwork instead of structured workshop processes.
With RepairCMS

  • Tailored intake forms triggered by the selected device type.
  • Complete ticket data captured during the very first intake.
  • Standardized capture of condition, lock code and accessories.
  • Perfectly prepared groundwork for your workshop technicians.

Tip

Always enable accessories and condition: Turn these attributes on for almost all electronics types. It forces your front-counter staff to log chargers, cases or pre-existing damage straight into the ticket, keeping your shop legally protected.
